Is it that art relates to NFTs in the same way that popcorn relates to art?
I'm not saying that's the case, but I think it's a valid question. I appreciate both combinations. I think it's even more interesting how physical art popcorn can be digitally represented as NFT, and whether NFT has an art status by this very act or is just a tool for a new kind of distribution. Web3 enhanced art popcorn is a niche market for sure. However, I think NFTs need artists more than artists need NFTs and regular popcorn is more like an ERC20 token, fungible, but art popcorn is non-fungible. I guess we can also combine these different shapes and forms to create a popcorn equivalent to ERC404.
As I discussed the economics of popcorn with Pierre Guillet de Monthoux, the scientific director of the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) Art Initiative, briefly over the phone while my children ran around trying to get my attention, Monthoux's wife informed him that the Ethiopian coffee ceremony often begins with or is accompanied by popcorn.
